Best Dressed: Golden Globes 2015
Award season has begun! For all of the southerners, this is our version of the beginning of SEC football season….needless to say we will be glued to the TV and style.com for the next few months!
The stars shined on the Red Carpet at the 2015 Golden Globes! Here are our top picks for Best Dressed….
Megan’s Best Dressed:
Kerry Washington in custom Mary Katrantzou, with Christian Louboutin shoes.
‘Ms. Pope’ can do no wrong in my eyes, but that’s probably because she always looks polished with an interesting twist. I love that she opted to wear a fashion-forward designer that we don’t normally see on the Red Carpet. The color really popped against her skin, and the fit was perfection. Her understated jewelry, hair and fresh makeup made the look a winner.
Dakota Johnson, in Chanel Haute Couture, with Jimmy Choo shoes.
Sparkle and shine was the hottest trend on the Red Carpet! Fifty Shades of Gray star stunned us all with her fashion selection from the effortless hair, to the strappy heels, to the statement ring, to her DIVINE couture gown…we can’t wait to see what she does next both on and off the Red Carpet.
Naomi Watts was a breath of fresh air on the Red Carpet in Gucci, with Bulgari jewels and bag.
While shimmer, sparkle and neutrals dominated at the Golden Globes, she opted for a pop of sunshine in her sleek gown. Her overall styling was understated but chic, making her a best dressed nominee in my eyes.
Matt’s Best Dressed:
Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace
I always say, if you want to look amazing on the red carpet, wear Versace. Jessica Chastain evoked old Hollywood glamour in a beautifully draped Atelier Versace gown. The deep metallic bronze color looks amazing against her porcelain skin and her hair and makeup perfectly accented the glamourous gown.
Emma Stone in Lanvin
I love a good jumpsuit and Emma Stone did not disappoint last night. This Lanvin jumpsuit was perfect for the fun and lighthearted Golden Globes. It was elegant, yet still youthful and modern. Keeping the jewelry minimal against the bejeweled bodice was also a smart choice.
Julianne Moore in custom Givenchy Haute Couture
I gasped when I saw this gown. Rounding out my trifecta of redheads is Julianne Moore in Givenchy Haute Couture. Riccardo Tisci has produced some breathtaking gowns during his tenure at the legendary house of Givenchy, and this gown is among the best. The metallic paillettes that looked like feathers or scales, and the ostrich feathers along the bottom of the gown gave her a mythical beauty. If this is how she is starting out awards season, I cannot wait for the Oscars.
Laura’s Best Dressed:
Diane Kruger wore an Emilia Wickstead.
The beauty of this dress is in its simplicity. There is a little bit of shimmer, but the sleek silhouette is what makes it a best-dressed candidate. Styled perfectly with her hair harkens back to an old Hollywood glam that would make Elizabeth Taylor proud.
Sienna Miller wore a Miu Miu dress with Jimmy Choo heels and Tiffany & Co. jewellery.
Sienna Miller looks so Sienna Miller and I love her for it. There is a lot going on, but somehow it all works (though I’m not sure many other stars could pull it off). The deep neckline works to balance out all the embellishments and that bob adds the perfect accent of sweet and spunky to a the sheer backless gown.
Anna Kendrick arrived in a Monique Lhuillier gown.
This gown is strong yet undeniably feminine with it’s deep neckline and full skirt. The blush tulle is the perfect accent for her fair complexion, and the flecks of shimmer in the color of 2015 Marsala makes this the perfect dress to start the award season with and a great start to the new year!

I love Mary Katrantzou’s fun printed dresses. All those patterns. I agree Diane Kruger’s look was very old hollywood. It suits her! Very pretty.
A lot of people didn’t like Kiera’s Chanel number but I thought it was very maternity appropriate. Plus, she has a classic/timeless face. She can wear anything. Modern or vintage.
And I liked Leslie Mann’s pairing of the green clutch and earrings with the yellow dress..
I was just looking at the worst dressed. What the heck is Rosamund Pike wearing? I am fearful for “the girls”. There were more worsts than bests in my opinion. Lena Dunham never looks good. Apparently neither she nor her stylist understand her body. Or maybe they just don’t care? She def doesn’t dress to suit her figure.
