Winter Wedding Guest Outfit Ideas: What To Wear to a Winter Wedding

L'Amour

Fall wedding season is here, and there’s nothing more beautiful than autumn landscapes with intricate lawn care and warm hues to set the tone for such a special occasion. Although it’s my favorite time of year (and the reason I chose to get married during the fall season)- a winter wedding guest outfit may take a bit more thought and preparation since the weather is much cooler. (And your go-to lightweight dress won’t do the trick!). Today, I am going to tell you “What to wear to a winter wedding as a guest”.

I’ve been inspired lately as I have been helping my Style Coaching clients and Society members create outfits for their upcoming special events. I often encourage them to toss their traditional ideas of attire aside and consider all of the various chic alternatives from a dark floral midi dress to the perfect one and done jumpsuit. And I want to encourage you to do the same!

Below are some winter wedding guest dresses, outfit ideas and style tips to accompany them.

Modern Satin Trousers

Style Tip: Modern (aka not from 10+ years ago) satin trousers can be very chic, especially in a fresh color combo like this tonal pairing.

Sweater Skirt Combo

Style Tip: I love a sweater skirt combo; but perhaps stick to obviously non-white hues to be respectful of the bride.

Deep Fall Tone Florals

Style Tip: Don’t be afraid of deep, fall tone florals for a more casual wedding. A high neck, long sleeve style looks fresh with modern accessories. Also, skip wedges & go with a sleek heel for a more flattering look. If it’s an outdoor wedding opt for a block heel.

Tea Length Dress

Style Tip: A tea length dress is such a nice black tie or black tie optional look. since your shoes will show make sure they are fun and fabulous. A small handbag or clutch is a must for any wedding guest outfit. Visit sites like https://csd.shop/designers/chanel/women/ to find options.

A Dressy Jumpsuit

Style Tip: A dressy jumpsuit and heels can work for almost any wedding; just select the type of jumpsuit and accessories according to the time and venue of the wedding.

A Boho Look

Style Tip: If you prefer a more boho look, opt for a dress with natural floral embroidery, and keep the accessories neutral and soft.

Velvet

Style Tip: Velvet can be a fabulous way to add interest to your fall/winter wedding ensemble. It’s a wonderful option for a black tie or black tie optional wedding in a longer length, or for a cocktail attire wedding in a shorter length.

I also love the skirt and sweater look. How would you describe the skirt if I want something made… I am the mother of the groom and 5’0.
    Thanks
