Swimwear Trends: How to Wear the Swimwear Trends

L'Amour

It’s finally swimsuit season and with that can come a mix of feelings. Dread of wiggling back into your old bathing suits, and hope that this year you’ll find that “perfect” suit that serves you well all summer long. Why not go ahead and skip the dread feeling, and spruce up your swim attire this year. Here are a few trends you might want to try but always keep in mind your body type and personal style when perusing. Happy Summer & Shopping!

High-Waisted Bikini
First on the list, the High-Waisted Swimsuit Trend. I personally love this trend because high waisted bottoms, such as jeans and skirts, are pieces many women wear in their daily life as they are comfortable and slimming. So, why not try this silhouette in swimwear? If opting for a multi-colored suit pair it with some nice neutral accoutrements to keep from looking overdone.

One-Piece Wrap

Next, the One-Piece Wrap Swimsuit! The faux-wrap look is a huge trend this summer (but is also very classic) and it even looks good on your swimwear. There’s nothing fresher than a pastel color paired back with a navy short to add color in a subtle way. Throw on a straw beach hat (preferably a wide brim or Panama style) and shades and you’re set for a long day on the beach.

Vertical Stripe-2

The Vertical Stripe One Piece is for anyone out there who loves color! Pinks, blues, and yellows look great together, especially in a vertical stripe as it’s elongating (aka flattering). Add a dash more of color by matching one color in the suit to your shoes, a bag, OR your sunglasses (but not all 3!).

Capped Sleeve

The Capped Sleeve Swimsuit might be impractical if you are looking to avoid tan lines, but this would be a great transition piece if you know you’re headed straight from the beach to dinner. Pair it with a neutral olive green and you are good to go! Also, don’t forget to pick up your own pair of metallic sandals or slides this season. We aren’t seeing these go out of style anytime soon!

One- Shoulder Bikini

One-Shoulder Swimsuits are oh so stylish and chic. If you have a black swimsuit like the one above, pair it with a more vibrant cover up, like a royal blue. And don’t forget your red and white striped towel! A red this beautiful goes with anything (aka it’s a neutral).
