1
. Kindred Bravely Nursing & Hands Free Pumping Bra: This
nursing friendly bra is super comfortable while still being supportive and most definitely a postpartum essential when nursing. I love that it has both nursing and pumping capabilities. I can seamlessly transition from nursing to hands-free pumping, which definitely makes this new mama’s life easier!
2
. Garden of Life Magnesium Powder: After multiple days in the hospital on IV fluids, I was excited to get home and back into my supplement routine. I typically take a magnesium supplement before bed, but I needed an extra dose postpartum.
This magnesium powder mixes easily with water, was easy to drink daily, and made me feel like a new person.
3.
Cosabella Nursing Pajamas: These were my favorite
maternity pajamas for their comfort, ease and of course stylishness. And they transitioned beautifully into postpartum. They are nursing friendly, and the robe allows for more modesty when visitors pop by to see the baby.
4.
Ultra-Hydrating Eye Cream: Since sleep is quite different these days, an
ultra hydrating eye cream is vital! While dark circles are inevitable right now, I want to at least keep my under eyes hydrated. This clean beauty product feels incredible under the eyes, as well as on my eyelids, and is applied both morning and night with my ring finger.
5
. Mothers Milk Tea: For the nursing mamas, you want to drink and eat things that are geared to support your breast milk. This
organic tea tastes pretty good and is easy to sip throughout the day.
6.
Slip Eye Mask: Sneaking in a nap when the baby is sleeping is the goal as a new mama. And since those naps often happen during the day, a good eye mask helps block out the light and allows for better sleep. This
silk eye mask also feels lovely on the skin and doesn’t leave marks on your face.
7.
Earth Mama Nipple Butter: I literally apply
Earth Mama Nipple Butter after every feeding and it has made a world of a difference! Breastfeeding is obviously new for me and this ensures I can nurse baby James with ease.
8
. Medela Soothing Gel Pads for Breastfeeding: Another helpful product for nursing mamas are
these gel pads that I leave in the freezer and pull out when needed.
9.
Ursa Major Face Wipes: When you’re feeling sleep deprived as a new mama the last thing you want to do is wash your face.
These face wipes are nice to keep next to your bed to use before you crash. While your focus postpartum is of course your precious new baby it’s important to do little things throughout the day for your own self-care, and that includes taking care of your skin.
10.
Motherhood Maternity Nursing Gown: This was my
delivery gown in the hospital that worked like a charm! It’s also transitioned nicely into postpartum as it’s comfortable, nursing friendly and machine washable.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this list of postpartum essentials. Having the right products can make the new role of mom much easier and comfortable. Remember that making yourself a priority will allow you to be refreshed and even better for your sweet baby. Follow me on Instagram
