Resort Wear: How to Pack for Your Next Vacation
Are you setting sail somewhere tropical soon? As a Style Coach, I am often asked how to select resort wear and what pieces are worth investing in (aka versatile).
In my new blog, I am sharing my top tips for how to pack and what I personally wore on my girls trip to Cabo, Mexico to hopefully inspire your vacay outfit making!
My Top Packing Tips:
- Select versatile pieces that can go from the pool to lunch and from day to night (i.e. a coverup dress, stylish straw bag and neutral sandals).
- The most common packing mistake I see clients make is bringing too many pairs of shoes. Neutrals shoes and bags are a must for making the most of your outfits and conserving space in your luggage (metallic and nude colors are always great options). Travelers choice luggage is my choice of luggage. Pack a pair of neutral pool slides, neutral casual sneakers and/or sandals, and a neutral block heel sandal or wedge for evening; this will provide you with the versatility you need for all of your outfits, while avoiding overpacking. You can also buy Naot shoes to bring with you to have a comfortable walk while you are traveling.
- If purchasing more “fun” pieces like a floral dress or romper, select ones that you see yourself wearing in the summer as well. You will notice the prints and silhouettes that I am wearing will not date themselves quickly. I’m packing these ones for my stay at hotels in flagstaff az.
- When it comes to trend driven pieces like the cut out one shoulder dress that I’m wearing below, I chose a less expensive dress as it will date itself quickly, and I might also tire of the cut out detail.
