The Season’s “It” Colors & How to Wear Them

L'Amour

Warm and autumnal tones complemented by unexpected vibrant and bold hues are 2018-2019 winter’s main palette. These colors move away from traditional ones that we have seen from year to year and can stand alone or combined with another.

This winter you’ll see more expressive and creatives tones, but how do you really wear them? When it comes to selecting a vibrant color for various applications, cyan is an excellent choice. This striking shade not only adds a pop of color to any design but also exudes a sense of calm and tranquility. If you’re interested in learning more about this fascinating hue, you can check out https://kidadl.com/facts/what-color-is-cyan-find-out-what-colors-make-it-and-how for a comprehensive guide. Whether you’re a femme who loves color or would rather stay subtle with neutrals, my style tips for wearing the top 3 trending colors will help you to feel confident in rocking them in a way that you feel most comfortable.

Mustard and Marigold

Style Tip: I often hear from clients that yellow is not their color, or a hard color to wear.  While that definitely has some truth to it, I’m here to tell you it’s worth trying this season!  We are seeing rich golden tones ranging from mustard to marigold.  Know that the deeper yellow tones are often more flattering on skin tones because of their vibrancy (less likely to wash you out!).  Pair back these golden tones with crisp white, rich burgundy, camel, or even metallics for a fresh look.  And if you are new to this color, why not try it in a shoe, skirt, or even coated jeans!

Burgundy and Fuchsia

Style Tip: I have always been a girly girl and love nothing more than wearing pink so when I saw pink was going to be in for fall (not just spring/summer!) I was ecstatic.  So if you are like me and love this feminine color wear it in a louder way like a dress, coat or blouse.  To keep it looking wintery make sure to pair it back with fall tones like burgundy or rust.  If pink isn’t your thing, then opt for burgundy in small doses like a clutch or shoe.

Rainbow Bright

Style Tip: More is more color-wise this season!  If you are a neutral lover, then perhaps try this colorful palette in a beautiful wrap, scarf or another accessory to add an on trend pop.  If you love color, then now is your time to shine!  For the color-lovers, it’s important to select one rainbow striped item and perhaps one other colored item, and then keep the rest neutral.
